EURO Scriptchat: How To Collaborate With Producers - Guest: Chris Jones

You've got your script. You've managed to get it under the nose of a producer who completely loves it and wants to make it. But what happens if they want to change EVERYTHING? What if they decide that the best sequence in the second act is too expensive to shoot? What happens if they CAN'T GET DE NIRO FOR THE LEAD?!
Okay, so maybe it won't go exactly like that. But how do you collaborate with producers without jeopardising your voice? To chat about this we've managed to coerce Chris Jones to come back to Scriptchat - if you haven't met him before on Twitter, see below for his bio:

Oscar-shortlisted filmmaker Chris Jones has spent his life making movies and helping others make their movies.

His major projects include action thriller 'The Runner', serial killer thriller 'White Angel' and paranormal horror 'Urban Ghost Story'. He also co-created and authored The Guerilla Film Makers Handbook series, and currently there are seven editions!

In 2009, Chris made the multi-award-winning and Oscars-shortlisted 'Gone Fishing'.
Chris is also the director of the London Screenwriters' Festival and mutliple other screenwriting and filmmaking festivals, events and workshops. He is co-host (with Judy Goldberg) of web-based TV show for film makers 'The Production Office LIVE!' and on top of all of that, he still finds time to regularly blog his thoughts on filmmaking, productivity, the film industry and next-generation distribution over at www.chrisjonesblog.com.
